The book ‘Under My Hijab’ is written by Hena Khan and illustrated by Aaliya Jaleel. This story is about a young girl who observes other girls and women wearing their hijab in their daily lives. She sees how each one wears their own hijab to reflect their unique character.

The book ‘We Are Water Protectors’ is written by Carole Lindstrom and illustrated by Michaela Goade. This story is about a girl who wants to protect and defend Earth’s most sacred resource. It is inspired by the many Indigenous-led movements across North America. When the construction of an oil pipeline – shown in the story as a black snake – threatens to harm plants, animals and humans who depend on water, she decides to rally others to try and save the Earth’s water from harm.

The book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ is written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury. This story follows a family going on an adventure to find a bear. On the journey they face a number of obstacles until they find a bear. At which point they realise that it is scary and run home going back through all the obstacles! This classic book has themes of family time, imagination, exploration and adventure.

The book ‘Weslandia’ is written by Paul Fleischman and Kevin Hawkes. The book is about a boy called Wesley who embarks on a summer project which grows and grows. For the first time in years Wesley is happy and makes friends.

The book ‘What If Everybody Did That?’ is written by Ellen Javernick. It tells the story of a young boy who is oblivious to his actions. The book tries to focus the reader on what if everybody did the same action – what would the consequences be? A thought provoking and memorable read aloud.

The book ‘What’s That Noise?’ is written by Francesca Simon and illustrated by David Melling. The story is about Harry who goes to stay with his grandparents for the night. However, he starts to hear unfamiliar noises and becomes scared!

The book ‘When Dinosaurs came with Everything’ is written by Elise Broach and illustrated by David Small. In this story, a young boy has to go shopping with his mum, and just when he is feeling bored, he discovers that shops are giving away special treats with each purchase. And not just a little treat…

The book ‘Where are you from?’ is written by Yamile Saied Mendez and illustrated by Jaime Kim. This story focuses on a young girl who keeps asking where she is from. She gets an answer from her ‘abuelo’ but it’s a bit more detailed than she was expecting. The book touches on identity, history and family relationships.

The book ‘Why?’ is written by Adam Rex and illustrated by Claire Keane. In this story, a little girl just keeps asking ‘Why?’ even when a supervillain appears. He keeps answering her questions so she keeps asking!

The book ‘Wonder Walkers’ is written and illustrated by Micha Archer. In this story, two children embark on a ‘wonder walk’ and let their imaginations wander as they look at the world in a whole new light. They have lots of questions as they start to walk!
