The book ‘Each Kindness’ is written by Jacqueline Wilson and illustrated by E.B. Lewis. This book is about how a new student called Maya arrives at school, but the other girls won’t play with her. Eventually, Maya stops coming to school. The teacher tries to teacher her students about how even small acts of kindness are important.

The book ‘Elmer’ is written by David McKee. The story is about a young elephant called Elmer, but Elmer isn’t elephant colour. Elmer is different. Elmer is patchwork! This classic bedtime story celebrates kindness, friendship and the things that make us all different.

The book ‘Emmanuel’s Dream’ is written by Laurie Ann Thompson and illustrated by Sean Qualls. This is a true story about a boy, Emmanuel, who was born with one leg. The book tells how he hopped to school, learned to play soccer, had to provide for his siblings when his mom died and eventually how he cycled across Ghana in 2001. During his bike ride he spread the message about ‘disability is not inability’.

The book ‘Enemy Pie’ is written by Derek Munson and illustrated by Tara King. This book is about a boy who gets upset when a new boy (Jeremy) moves into a house nearby. He sees Jeremy as an enemy and wants to get rid of him. So, he asks his dad to help him. His dad tells his son that he will make a pie which will get rid of enemies. The story is about friendship, judgement and bullying.

The book ‘Equality’s Call’ is written by Deborah Diesen and illustrated by Magdalena Mora. This books tells the story of the history of voting rights in the U.S. and how activists worked hard so that people secured the right to vote. It also acknowledges that there is still work to be done in the future.

The book ‘ Except Antarctica’ is written by Todd Sturgell. In this story, the reader follows a turtle and a group of animals embark on an adventure. A funny story which is also full of interesting facts!

The book ‘Extra Yarn’ is written by Mac Barnett and illustrated by Jon Klassen. In this story, Annabelle discovers a box of brightly coloured yarn. She knits a cosy jumper to keep herself nice and warm and finds, to her surprise, that she still has yarn left over. So she decides to knit her dog a jumper too but – hang on a second – she STILL has extra yarn! Annabelle knits and knits and, soon, she’s blanketed the entire town in a rainbow of colour!

The book ‘Eyes that Kiss in the Corners is written by Joanna Ho and illustrated by Dung Ho. It tells the story of a young girl who notices that her eyes are different to her peers, but the same as her mother and grandmother. The book celebrates diversity, empowerment and self-love.
